Four appliances were called to the scene at the Spean Bridge Hotel after a blaze broke out at around 3.30pm. A spokesman for the fire service said that the fire was in the roof space of the building. Police have said that no one was in the building at the time. The extent of the damage caused by the fire is not known at this stage. The hotel, which is beside the main A82 Fort William-Inverness road, was originally a coaching inn dating back to the 17th century.
