Police have confirmed that a woman who went missing in Shetland yesterday has been traced safe and well following an extensive air and ground search.
Leigha Williamson, 44, went missing from Port Arthur near Scalloway and was traced in this area at about 1.30pm this afternoon.
The Shetland-based Coastguard helicopter and two ground teams joined the search at about 5.30am this morning and Aith lifeboat was launched at about 6.10am to scour the coastline.
Local Inspector Paul Daley said: “Police would like to extend gratitude to Coastguard and Lifeboat crews and volunteers for their assistance in today’s search efforts. We would also like to thank the media and members of the public who shared our appeal for Ms Williamson.”
