The accident, at Blair Atholl, happened on the southbound carriageway at around 2.30am this morning. The tanker was carrying 3,000 gallons of whisky. Emergency services are still on scene and the road is closed in both directions. Police have said it will remain shut for several hours and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible. Vehicles are being diverted through Blair Atholl however this route is not suitable for HGVs. Instead lorries are being held on the road.
