Oban Lifeboat was called out this morning following reports of debris spotted in the sea west of Maiden Island at the entrance to Oban Bay.
The Mora Edith MacDonald went out at 6.05am and was joined by the CalMac ferry Clansman and a number of local creel boats.
The flotilla commenced a search of the immediate area and coastlines, including Oban bay.
After an extensive search of the area, no further debris was found and the search was called off.
The volunteer crew of the lifeboat would like to thank all vessels that diverted course to help with the search, and to all that offered their assistance.
