A Ross-shire man has been jailed after admitting repeatedly breaching a community payback order.
Douglas Jaffray, 34, was given the order after admitting a breach of the peace at his home address of 150 Milnafua, Alness on July 6, 2014.
He admitted shouting, swearing and making offensive remarks in and outside his home.
Fiscal depute Stewart MacIver said that members of the public had called the police after hearing Jaffray “shouting and swearing that he wanted to stab people” at about 2.20am.
Officers spoke to him at his home but he continued to cause a disturbance even after he had been taken to a waiting police car.
Tain Sheriff Court heard yesterday that Jaffray had repeatedly failed to appear for appointments to carry out his community payback order.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood said: “It is glaringly obvious from your report that you repeatedly say what you need to keep out of jail but then do no act on those words.”
