Two homeless pets from Inverness are settling into new homes in the north-east after public appeals for new owners.
Tara, a six-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier, was in the care of the Scottish SPCA at their Inshes centre in Inverness for a 477 days before moving in with Jenny Austin, of Forres in Moray.
The dog’s owner was taken in because her previous owner was unable to look after her.
And Latte, a four-year-old blind Persian cat, has gone to a new home in Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
The feline’s fur was so badly matted that it had to be sedated by a vet and shaved, leaving its with little hair left.
The cat ended up at the Inshes centre when its owner was taken to hospital.
Centre manager Elaine Floyd said: “Tara seemed to be getting overlooked as she didn’t have the cute appeal of a puppy but we knew it was only a matter of time until this beautiful girl was snapped up by a doting owner.
“This affectionate staffie isn’t really aware of her size and loves jumping up for cuddles and tummy rubs. We know she will shower her lucky new owner Jenny Austin with love.
“Everyone at our centre is going to miss Tara lots but we are absolutely delighted she has finally been given a second chance.
“And after all Latte has been through, we are delighted she has found a home where she will be loved.
“Her coat will soon grow back and we are sure once she is familiar with the new surrounding there will be no stopping her.”
