Two people have been taken to hospital following a car fire near Dingwall.
Emergency services were called to the back road between Evanton and Dingwall during rush hour.
The Audi S5 was left completely destroyed and police have closed off the road.
A spokesman for fire and rescue said the man in the vehicle has been freed before crews arrived at the scene.
He added: “Our teams teams have now left the scene and the man has been left in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
A spokeswoman for the police said: “One male occupant of the vehicle was removed by emergency services and is currently being treated for injuries, the extent of which are not known at this stage.
