Two stuck in Ben Nevis mountain rescue

Two men have walked themselves to safety after being reported stuck near the summit of Scotland’s highest mountain.

The walkers called emergency services after getting into difficulty near the top of Ben Nevis at around 9.15am.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team were informed and were preparing to send a squad to help the men down.

But a short while later the operation was called off after the walkers were able to get themselves to safety.

A police spokesman said that neither of the men were thought to be injured.
