The 34-year-old man was attacked in the Ashley Court area of Wick on Monday evening. He sustained head injuries and is being treated at Caithness General Hospital. There is no description of his assailant at present, however a police spokesman said that the attack took place sometime before 10.25pm. Anyone with information should contact police in Wick on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
