A fishing vessel has broken down and is currently adrift north of the Western Isles. At around 3.30pm the Stornoway lifeboat team were alerted to a distress call from a broken down fishing boat north of the Butt of Lewis. The RNLI lifeboat made contact with the drifting vessel just after 5pm, and is currently being towed to the nearest safe harbour.
