A rock band comprising three brothers from Thurso and a drummer from Elgin have played the gig of their dreams at the UK’s biggest rock festival.
Estrella, an 80’s influenced hair metal band who have previously supported former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clark, stormed the Download Festival stage at Donnington Park last week ahead of the likes of rock giants Kiss, Slipknot, Slash and Mötley Crüe.
The band secured the chance to perform at Download by winning the “Boardie Takeover” online poll, and the four Scots drew in a huge haul of headbanging fans, dubbed the “Estrella Warriors”.
Lead singer Paul Gunn said: “Download was fantastic, right from the outset the crowd were singing along and cheering for us, it was an amazing experience.”
