A man has been airlifted to hospital after being injured while working on a wind turbine in Ross-shire.
The contractor was working on a turbine on the Novar Windfarm near Evanton when he suffered an injury.
The man, who is in his late-20s, is believed to have suffered a back injury – though a police spokesman described the incident as a “medical matter”.
An ambulance and three fire engines were all called to the windfarm to help assist the injured man just after 12pm.
Firefighters and paramedics helped the man to the ground for treatment.
He was later airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by air ambulance. He is not thought to be seriously injured.
The windfarm is on the grounds of Novar Estate and is operated by RWE Innogy.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “RWE Innogy can confirm that earlier today (Friday), a contractor was air lifted to Raigmore Hospital following a muscular injury sustained whilst undertaking routine maintenance at Novar Wind Farm.
“The contractor is expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”
A spokeswoman for the fire service confirmed that crews from Dingwall and Invergordon, as well as the specialist heavy reach unit from Inverness also attended the scene.
