Fire crews and police at the incident with fire teams last night
Residents are understood to have been evacuated from a block of flats in Fort William tonight.
At around 10.30pm it is understood that people were evacuated from flats on Ross Place in Upper Achintore towards the south of the West coast town.
Fire and police services could not confirm the nature of the incident, however the two services did confirm that they were working together to resolve the incident.
The street is currently sealed off.
Earlier reports of a suspected bomb scare have been denied by police.
UPDATE: Pictures have emerged of the scene as fire teams confirm that they are working with the police to calm down and reassure residents living close to the scene of the incident.
