Cruise line that sails from Inverness, Kirkwall and Oban reveals new schedule

The Majestic Line is one of the world's smallest cruise lines and routes sell out quickly.

A west coast cruise firm has revealed its schedule for 2024 and 2025 with sailings from Oban, Inverness and Kirkwall.

The Majestic Line is one of the smallest of its kind in the world, with ships holding up to just 12 people.

Five vessels are in the Majestic Line fleet, namely Glen Etive, Glen Massan, Glen Rosa, Glen Shiel and Glen Tarsan.

The new Glen Rosa holds six passengers, while the other four hold between 11 and 12 people.

A choice of three, six and 10 nights are available across 17 different cruise itineraries covering the west coast, St Kilda, Orkney and the Caledonian Canal.

Leaving from and returning to Oban

  • Around Mull: Wildlife Explorer (six nights)
  • Captain’s Choice (six nights)
  • Idyllic Isles of the Outer Hebrides (10 nights)
  • Islay and the Southern Hebrides (six nights)

  • Isles of the Clyde and the Southern Hebrides (six nights)
  • Isles of the Southern Hebrides and Sea Lochs of Argyll (six nights)
  • Mull and her Inlets and Islands (six nights)
  • North West Coast Wilderness (10 nights)
  • Outer Hebrides and St Kilda (10 nights)
  • Skye and the Small Isles (six nights)

As well as leaving Oban, A Coastal Odyssey – which lasts for 10 nights – also goes to and from Kirkwall.

Inverness is also an option for the six-night Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal cruise, as is the Argyll town.

Meanwhile, the six-night Orkney – A Voyage Through Time is scheduled to leave and return to the island capital Kirkwall.

Two other cruises, A Taste of Argyll and Enchanting Argyll: Islands, Lochs and Wildlife – which last for three and six nights respectively – departs and returns further down in the west coast in Dunoon.

All meals, including wine with an evening meal, and services of the crew are included in the cost, starting from £1,240 per person for a three-night cruise.
