The woman, named locally as Ava Milne from Tain, died when her Renault Clio and a Volvo collided on the B9175 between Arabella and Nigg. Friends of the 29-year-old paid tribute to her on social media. Nicola McAuley said: “RIP Ava, taken too soon. One of my first ever friends I made when moved to Scotland. “You will be missed. Thoughts go out to your family.” Nicola Skinner added: “Rest in peace Ava, thoughts are with your family at this sad time. “Makes your realise how short life is. Cherish every moment.” Miss Milne died at the scene of the accident, just minutes after leaving her work at the Global Energy Group fabrication yard at Nigg. GEG paid tribute to a “hard working, popular and valued member of staff”.
