Search for missing man in Highlands

Police are appealing for help to trace a missing man in the Highlands.

Michael Fairchild, 49, was last seen yesterday around 11am in the Baddidarach area of Lochinver.

Mr Fairchild intended to talk to Ardroe, a 45 minute walk but has failed to return and concerns have now been raised for his welfare.

Mr Fairchild is described as 5ft 7in tall, of stocky build with collar length dark hair.

He is clean shaven and wears glasses.

When last seen he was wearing wellies or walking boots, dark cord trousers, a blue polo shirt and a three-quarters length wax jacket.

Anyone who has seen Mr Fairchild should contact police on 101.
