Oban Lifeboat went to the aid of a yacht with a rope caught around its propeller yesterday.
The lifeboat was tasked by Stornoway Coastguard at 3.35pm to assist the yacht with two people on board. It was fouled on a creel rope in the approaches to the Sound of Luing.
At 4.08pm the lifeboat arrived on scene and launched her daughter craft to assess the situation. The creel rope was found to be fouling the rudder and was cut releasing the yacht.
The yacht skipper was happy to proceed to Oban once he had satisfied himself he had power and steering.
The lifeboat departed at 4.42pm and returned to station.
