A 27-year-old man who fell 150ft off a cliff near Oban town centre is in hospital with head and internal injuries.
The man was airlifted to a specialist uni after plunging from the cliff known locally as The Hydro behind Combie Street, on Friday night.
The man was part of a group of five people who had gone up the cliff.
Sergeant Alan Moore of Oban Police Station said: “We received a call from ambulance control at 10.10pm, a report of a 27-year-old man who had fallen from the cliff at the rear of Combie Street.
“He sustained significant head and internal injuries. He was taken by paramedics to an ambulance and conveyed to Oban’s Lorn and the Islands Hospital. He was airlifted from there to South Glasgow University Hospital.
“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
He added: “His condition is described as serious but stable.”
