A restaurant which boasts one of the best views in Britain and counts Michelle Pfeiffer and Billy Connolly among diners is for sale at offers over £550,000.
The Badachro Inn, Wester Ross, has featured in the Michelin Best Pub Guide and was listed by Camilla Parker Bowles’ son Tom as one of the top five places to eat in the UK.
The B-grade listed inn has a conservatory and a wooden deck over the sea where visitors enjoy spectacular views of Badachro Bay, Loch Gairloch.
The property also includes a three-bedroomed flat, and the traditional bar area with a real fireplace dates from the mid-1800s.
Martyn and Lesley Pearson, the inn’s current owners, have run it since the late 1990s but are now moving to semi-retirement, and will instead spend 12 weeks each year cooking for private guests at exclusive shooting lodges.
The estate agent describes the inn as perfect for a professional chef or husband and wife team, as it boasts a net turnover for year ending September 2014 was £334,772.
Martyn, 58, said: “We’ve had a great time at Badachro, but we want to move on to new ventures and know that there is someone who will love this place as much as we have.
“Blowing it’s own trumpet, it’s the best pub in Scotland. Views, seafood – it really couldn’t get any better.
He added: “We get a lot of well-known people. We had Michelle Pfeiffer in when they were filming”Stardust” up here.
“We had lots in last year, because they were filming “What We Did On Our Holiday” with Billy Connolly.
He added: “When it’s busy in summer we’ll do 40-50 people at lunch and 70-80 at night.
“Baldrick [Tony Robinson] comes in quite a lot actually. He usually has seafood.”
The selling agent’s brochure states: “Badachro Inn was constructed in the early-mid 19th century, initially built to accommodate the local fishing industry and now provides an idyllic setting for a restaurant and bar with stunning sea frontage.
“The ground floor of the Inn has a traditional bar fitted out with timber seating and tables, slate flooring, wood panelled walls, exposed timber beamed roof and an open fireplace which all provides a warm ambience.
“To the front of the property is a timber glazed dining conservatory with unrivalled views over the sea.
“Externally, the Inn boasts a large decking area which has both wooden tables and perimeter bench table seating to take advantage of the views over the loch.”
Euan MacCrimmon, of selling agents Strutt & Parker, said: “It’s a very well-known inn. People travel an awfully long distance to go there.
“The beauty of it is the conservatory is right on the sea, it’s stunning. And the bar area dates back to the mid 1800s.
