An extensive search of the Nevis mountains has failed to find any sign of two missing hillwalkers.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and RAF Mountain Rescue scoured the mountains on Saturday and Sunday.
Poor weather conditions and low lying cloud meant that plans to use a police helicopter to help with the search had to be abandoned.
Kilmarnock-born Eric Cyl, 62, disappeared six weeks ago and Tom Brown, 65, from Lanarkshire, is thought to have been missing for 12 days. Both had ventured out alone.
Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team Leader John Stevenson said: “We have been out looking for the two people all day Saturday and Sunday. They are both missing in the same area.
“Unfortunately we haven’t found anything at all. The weather has been appalling and we have been unable to utilise the police helicopter all weekend. It has been raining, with low cloud cover, and it has been pretty cold at the tops of the hills. It has been a miserable wet weekend.
“We just have to hope that someone comes across something somewhere to help. We have covered a lot of ground, but it is really difficult ground. There are a lot of gullys, crags, rocks, rivers and burns and it is possible we have missed something.
“We just have to keep trying.”
Police divers will scour the fast-flowing River Nevis this week as part of the search for Mr Brown, whose rucksack was found on a riverbank.
He left home on July 1 and checked into Glen Nevis Youth Hostel, at the foot of the ben, at 5.30pm the following day. His bag was found about a mile east of Steall Falls in Glen Nevis.
Mr Cyl, a fit, 6ft tall engineer has bagged 135 Munros and is known to be meticulous in planning his trips.
He set out from the Upper Steall car park on May 30 after being dropped off by a friend who chose not to join him that day because he was not feeling well.
