Major search launched after clothing found in Fort William

Coastguard teams from Mallaig, Salen and Fort William have been tasked to aid in the search.

A major search operation is underway in the Fort William area following concerns for a missing person.

Rescue teams were scrambled to the Lochaber town this evening after clothing was found.

HM Coastguard were notified about the discovery at around 5.40pm, tasking coastguard teams from Mallaig, Salen and Fort William to aid police with the search.

Search efforts are set to continue into the night as they work to establish who the clothes belong to.
