Power tools were stolen from two vans in neighbouring north villages on Sunday evening.
Police have launched an investigation after the thefts from work vans in Beauly and Muir of Ord.
The Beauly van was broken into in the Aird Road area of the village, with a number of tools stolen including two orange and black power saws.
And on the same evening saws, nail guns and a chainsaw were taken from a van in the Lilyloch area of Muir of Ord.
Chief Inspector Mairi MacInnes said: “Although it is important to secure property and vehicles throughout the year, summer can be the ideal opportunity for potential thieves to target, especially if they believe the home/vehicle owner to be away on holiday.
“It is vital to ensure all windows and doors of your property are secure if you’re heading out or going to bed. Extra lighting around sheds, outbuildings and gardens can also act as a deterrent as will well signed CCTV system if you have the budget.
“Where possible, it is advised to remove any high value tools from works vehicle for storage in a secure property.”
A police spokeswoman added: “Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour during the times outlined or anyone with information on the incidents is encouraged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
