A trunk road in Argyll will be closed tomorrow night to recover a crane which has overturned.
An emergency lane closure is in place on the A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown road just over half-a-mile south of Inverneil.
Police and BEAR Scotland’s incident support unit are aware and traffic management measures have been set up to protect road users until the crane is recovered.
The operation is scheduled to take place overnight on Wednesday, July 22, from 10pm until 5.30am.
A Transport Scotland spokesman said: “Due to the size of the crane and the complex recovery process, the road will be closed for the safety of the workforce and motorists during these hours.
“A diversion will be signed in advance to notify motorists via the B8024, however the route is not suitable for HGVs, which will be stacked.
“The emergency road closure has been planned in consultation with local ferry and bus operators to minimise disruption to travel as much as possible. Emergency services will be able to pass through the road closure at all times.”
