A crewman from a vessel berthed at Glensanda Quarry in Argyll was rushed to hospital last night after suffering chest pains.
At 10.16pm, Oban Lifeboat was tasked by Stornoway Coastguard to evacuate the man.
The lifeboat departed Oban with six crew and two paramedics onboard, arriving at the quarry by 10.50pm. Once on scene, the paramedics went ashore to assess the patient.
By 11.10pm the volunteer crew left the quarry with the casualty and paramedics onboard for the trip back to Oban. Once back at the lifeboat berth, the casualty was transferred to a waiting ambulance at 11.58pm and taken to Oban Lorn and the Islands Hospital.
