Emergency services were called to a road accident in Lochgilphead today when an elderly man veered off the road and crashed his car into a signpost.
The accident took place on Poltalloch Street, near the Bank of Scotland, within the 30mph limit area on the A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown road at 11.10am.
Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene.
A police spokesman said: “The accident took place at 11.10am. There was one car involved. The man was being assisted at the scene.”
A fire service spokesman said that appliances from Lochgilphead and Tarbert went to the scene but were not required, as the man was out of the vehicle when they arrived.
