A rescue operation is underway for a 21-year-old man who went missing after a marquee dance at Saturday’s Sutherland county show.
Lachlan Simpson, of Embo, was reported missing yesterday after failing to make contact with family and friends following the dance in Dornoch.
Mr Simpson was last seen inside the marquee tent at about 10.30pm and may have left the area at about 2am on Sunday morning in the direction of Embo, three miles north of Dornoch on the coast.
Police and the Inverness Coastguard Rescue 137 helicopter and ground team, have been out searching for Mr Simpson since early this morning.
It is understood that several members of the local community are also helping with the search.
Mr Simpson is described as being 6ft in height, of slim to medium build with short blonde hair. It is thought he was wearing a white and green zip up top on Saturday.
Anyone who may have spotted Mr Simpson leaving the dance or has information on his whereabouts should contact police on 101.
