Police are becoming increasingly anxious to trace a 21-year-old man who went missing after a marquee dance at Saturday’s Sutherland county show.
Commis chef Lachlan Simpson, of Embo, was reported missing on Monday after failing to make contact with family and friends following the night time dance in Dornoch.
Mr Simpson was last seen outside of the marquee tent at the town’s Links area at about 1.30 on Sunday morning when it is understood that he was planning to attend a house party.
Searches are continuing today with assistance from police dog handlers, Search and Rescue Dog Association dogs and local Coastguard and community volunteers.
Chief Inspector Colin Gough said: “It’s been over 48 hours since Lachlan has been seen by family or friends so we are very concerned for his wellbeing.
“We urge anyone who saw Lachlan during or leaving the area of the dance to get make contact. We would also appeal to local residents of Dornoch and Embo to check their gardens and outbuildings. The local community are thanked for their assistance with inquiries.”
Mr Simpson is described as 6ft tall, of slim build with short blond hair and was last sighted wearing a green and white top.
