Motorists will face two weeks of disruption as the second phase of resurfacing gets underway on part of the A9 Inverness-Perth trunk road.
Transport Scotland is investing £380,000 to improve the southbound dual carriageway at Drumochter Pass and works will start on Friday, August 14.
The first phase started in March this year and this time 875 yards of road will be getting repaired.
The resurfacing will be carried out between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday with no works planned at weekends.
A 10mph convoy traffic management system will be in operation during the works and a lane closure will remain in place outside working hours.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s north west unit representative, said: “These works will lead to a much improved road surface when they are complete, enhancing the quality of the transport links in the area as well as improving safety for the travelling public.
“Some disruption may be experienced as a result of these works. However, the safety of our workforce as well as the public is paramount. All possible efforts to reduce disruption as much as possible will be taken.
“We would like to thank motorists in advance for their patience and also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out.”
