Plans for a dog day care centre on the Black Isle have been approved despite concerns about noise.
A former dental surgery at Dumbreck near Culbokie will now be used for pet owners to drop their pets off for the day while they are at work.
The plans were approved yesterday by Highland Council’s north planning committee, although the centre will face a review after 12 months to check on noise concerns.
The centre will be run by Sharon Crabtree who runs The Dog Life, which will, among other features, offer indoor treadmills for dogs to exercise on.
Six objections to the plan were received by the council from residents at nearby properties.
Committee chairwoman Isobel McCallum said she had “strong reservations” about the noise of barking dogs carrying long distances from the centre.
She added: “I think that the cautious approach of having permission for one year is acceptable.
