Specialist police search teams, a police helicopter and a dog unit are continuing the hunt today for a missing 22-year-old Sutherland man on the day of a local Highland gathering.
Lachlan Simpson, of Embo, disappeared following a show dance in Dornoch in the early hours of Sunday, July 26.
A public information tent has been set up at today’s Dornoch’s Highland Gathering for anyone to come forward with information.
The last known sighting of Mr Simpson was 1.30am on Sunday, July 26.
He was supposed to meet up with friends in Dornoch before heading to a house party in Embo, but police said he walked in the opposite direction from his home.
Police have also released a photograph of a rucksack similar to one that he often uses, which is also missing.
Dozens of local volunteers joined forces with police, Mountain Rescue teams, Coastguard, Caithness and Sutherland Rescue Team, the Search and Rescue Dog Association and the RNLI Lifeboat team, in the first week of the search.
