Motorists have been advised to use an alternative route and to allow extra time for their journeys following severe downpours across the region. Earlier this evening, Traffic Scotland warned drivers to “take care” on the A9 as high winds caused chaos. Numerous properties in the Highlands have also been affected by the torrential rain.
