Oban lifeboat helps fouled yacht

Oban Lifeboat was called to help a kayaker in Loch Melfort this afternoon but ended up assisting a fouled yacht.

The crew was alerted to the kayaker at around 3.15pm but minutes after launching, they were told the man had been helped by others in the area.

However as they returned to base, they noticed a yacht which was fouled on a mooring in Oban Bay.

They helped the vessel back to its own mooring after releasing it from the obstruction.
