An amateur photographer has captured some incredible pictures of a bottlenose dolphin catching and playing with a salmon.
Alister Kemp, 49, was watching for dolphins at Chanonry Point on the Black Isle when he captured the quite incredible pictures.
Mr Kemp said: “It was just amazing to watch.
“I spend a lot of hours every summer watching the dolphins but I’ve never seen anything like this before.
“It’s such a stunning thing to see and there’s only a short amount of time in the summer to see it.
“It’s a great place to watch the dolphins and has been really busy lately. I’ve been going over since 2008, the trick to spotting them is to get there while the tide is still incoming.
“The salmon have been running a bit later than usual so we’re seeing more of the dolphins a bit later in the year.
“I’m not entirely sure how the dolphins hunt the salmon but they seem to sit deep and bide their time while watching for any weaknesses.”
