A woman was taken to hospital in early yesterday morning after a fire at a block of flats in Fort William.
Two appliances from the town were sent to a three-storey building at Polmona at Claggan at 5.32am.
It is understood the building was evacuated, although all persons were accounted for.
A fire service spokeswoman said an older woman was taken to the local Belford Hospital as a precaution.
She said that firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus and two main jets to extinguish the fire.
It is not clear what damage was caused to the building.
A police spokeswoman said that officers were carrying out a joint investigation with the fire service into the incident, and that it is currently being treated as “unexplained”.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
