A woman has been charged in connection with a suspicious fire at a block of flats in Kinlochleven.
The fire service was called to the flats in Foyers Road on Friday.
Two appliances from Kinlochleven were sent to the scene after the call was received at 4.37am.
A fire service spokesman said: “The fire was located within the communal entrance to the block of six flats. There was also considerable smoke damage to the stairwell area.
“Fire fighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a main jet. The cause of the fire is being investigated by police and the fire service.
“The occupants of all flats made their own way out of their properties and did not require medical attention.”
A police spokesman said: “Police can confirm that a 38-year-old woman has been reported to the procurator fiscal following a fire in Foyers Road, Kinlochleven.”
She will appear at Fort William Sheriff Court in due course.
In a separate incident, an elderly woman was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation after a fire at a block of flats in Fort William.
On Sunday at 5.32am, two appliances from Fort William attended a fire at a three-story block at Polmona, Claggan,.
Damage was confined to a coal shed at the ground level flats. There was also damage to the close area.
A fire service spokesman said: “The fire was extinguished by 6.07am by firefighters in breathing apparatus, who used two main jets.
A joint investigation between the fire and police services is ongoing.
“An elderly female casualty was removed from the property and taken to hospital as a precaution after suffering from smoke inhalation.”
