A walk will take place in the Highland capital on Saturday to raise funds for a national charity which helps people with dementia.
Funds raised from the five mile Inverness Memory Walk by the Caledonian Canal will help Alzheimer Scotland support the 90,000 people living with the condition nationwide, along with their families, friends and carers.
Dementia affects 4,200 people in the Highlands alone.
Alzheimer’s disease is the main form of dementia, followed by vascular dementia, and as yet there is no cure.
Registration for the walk is from 9.30am at the Memory Bus in Canal Park and the walkers will be led by an accordion player and the Alzheimer Scotland mascot.
Families are being encouraged to come along and treat the walk as a picnic day out – and dogs are also welcome.
There is also the option to make it a 10-mile round trip but walkers are being advised not to miss out on some home baking at Dochgarroch Hall.
Registration is £10 for adults, £5 for 12-16 year olds and under 12s go free.
