A hillwalker remains in a very critical condition in hospital after a 200ft fall on a Wester Ross mountain.
The man was airlifted from Beinn Alligin in the Torridon area yesterday morning.
A police spokesman said this morning the walker, who in his 50s, remains in Raigmore Hospital in Inverness in a “critical condition”.
It is understood that he suffered injuries to his head, chest and legs in the fall.
The man, who is not from the Highlands, was walking with his wife when the accident happened.
He was later found by members of Torridon Mountain Rescue Team, before being airlifted to hospital by the Inverness based Coastguard helicopter Rescue 951.
