A major search operation has resumed this morning in an effort to find a man missing after he is thought to have gone for a swim near the Skye Bridge.
Andrew Gordon from the East Lothian area was last spoken to at about 8.45am yesterday in Kyleakin on the Skye side of the crossing.
Police believe that the 54-year-old may have gone for a swim. He was reported missing by a family member at 12.30pm.
The search from the air, land and sea was stood down in bad light.
A spokesman for Stornoway Coastguard confirmed that the search was resuming this morning, with onshore teams from Portree, Kyle and Broadford returning to the area.
A police dog unit and the Search and Rescue Dogs Association have also helped with the search, while lifeboat crews from Kyle and Portree are also due to return to the area.
Members of the public and pleasure boats in the area also assisted with the effort yesterday afternoon.
Mr Gordon is described as being 6ft tall, of muscular build, with short shaved brown hair and a beard.
He was last seen wearing grey combat-style trousers and a “Guns & Roses” hooded top.
