Oban Lifeboat launched last night to help a yacht fouled on a creel buoy.
Stornoway Coastguard tasked the lifeboat at 8.37pm to assist a 35ft yacht with two people on board, that was fouled on a creel buoy in the Firth of Lorn, south of Kerrera.
During the crew’s journey, the yacht managed to free itself and was slowly sailing towards the south entrance to the Sound of Kerrera.
Once on scene shortly after, Oban lifeboat took the yacht under tow and proceeded up the sound, towards Oban Marina.
On arrival to Oban bay, the tow was released and the lifeboat stood by as the yacht berthed under her own steam.
