Hay bales alight at Ross-shire farm

Firefighters tackled two large stacks of hay bales which were alight at a farm in Ross-shire this afternoon.

One crew from Invergordon went to the scene in a field at a farm near Alness after the call was received at 3.37pm.

A hose reel jet was used and the flames were extinguished by about 4.05pm.

In each case the ground area covered by fire was approximately 270sq ft and the bales were completely destroyed.
