The body of a missing hill runner has been found during a major search in the west Highlands.
Alex Brett, 65, of Dingwall, was last seen in the Torridon area a week ago and reported missing on Thursday.
Extensive searches of the area were carried out on Friday and yesterday.
Police said that the body of a man was recovered in the Liathach area yesterday afternoon.
It has been formally identified as Mr Brett.
A force spokesman said that there were no suspicious circumstances regarding his death and a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
He added: “Police Scotland would like to thank the public for their assistance and calls with sightings of Mr Brett, which were very helpful.
“We would also like to thank the many organisations who assisted specialist police resources with the search, which included the Dundonell Mountain Rescue Team, Torridon Mountain Rescue Team, RAF Mountain Rescue Team, Kintail Mountain Rescue Team, Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) Scotland and HM Coastguard Helicopter Rescue.”
