Woman taken to hospital after A835 accident

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after a road accident near Garve.

Emergency crews were called to the accident on the A835 Inverness to Ullapool road just before 2.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said that the car had left the road and collided with barriers. No other vehicles were involved.

Two fire crews from Dingwall and the fire service’s heavy rescue unit from Inverness attended the incident to help the woman from the car.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “An elderly female patient has been transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness in a stable condition.”
