The van was stuck under the bridge carrying the Inverness to Wick railway line as it crosses Argo Terrace on the outskirts of the Sutherland town. The incident was reported just before 10.10am, with the camper van finally being recovered shortly after 1pm. Staff from Network Rail attended to check the condition of the bridge, although there was no disruption to rail services. A police spokesman confirmed that nobody had been injured in the incident and that the road remained passable while the camper van was recovered.
