Two women had to be rescued by lifeboat after being cut off by the tide on a walk on the Black Isle.
The Invergordon RNLI crew were launched yesterday afternoon to retrieve the two walkers who were stranded on a rocky cliff near Cromarty.
The two women had reported themselves in trouble to Aberdeen Coastguard, with the lifeboat crew launching at 3.20pm to search for them.
They were found on the shoreline coastal path out of Cromarty in the Gallow Hill area of the South Sutor .
The lifeboat launched its inflatable daughter craft which was small enough to navigate into the shoreline in order to collect the two stranded walkers.
With both on board the lifeboat safely and uninjured, the women were taken to Cromarty Harbour where they were passed into the care of local coastguard teams.
Invergordon Lifeboat coxswain, Bruce Rae said: “In the light of this call-out, and the pleasurable weather conditions, always remember about safety and ensure when our walking along shorelines you take into consideration tides and accessibility as part of your route planning.”
The lifeboat returned to Invergordon and was refuelled and ready for service again by 5:00pm
