Police are dealing with a serious road accident in Nairn

A woman has been taken to hospital after the car she was travelling in went off the A9 near Brora.

The accident happened at about 12.10pm at Loth, a few miles north of Brora on the Inverness to Thurso road.

A police spokeswoman said that the car had gone completely off the road.

The woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to the Lawson Memorial Hospital in Golspie by ambulance.

Police said that she was not thought to be seriously injured.

The male driver of the car was uninjured.
