A weather warning for heavy rain across the west Highlands has been extended into this morning.
The Met Office issued a yellow “be aware” warning covering a large area of Argyll and the western Highlands yesterday, which has be now been extended until midday today.
The forecasting agency said that up to 1.5 inches was expected to fall overnight and into this morning, which coupled with previous heavy rain and leaves on the ground could cause drainage problems.
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) have also issued flood alerts covering Argyll, Skye and Lochaber.
They said: “Heavy rain is expected to continue overnight and through in to Tuesday afternoon.
“Localised flooding due to rivers and small watercourses, and due to surface water is possible.
“Possible impacts could include isolated flooding of low lying land and roads and disruption to transport.”
A previous flood alert issued by Sepa covering Easter Ross and the Great Glen is no longer in force.
