The final bell is likely to toll next month for a mothballed Highland primary school.
A full council meeting will decide the fate of Inverasdale school in Wester Ross.
Education committee members, meeting yesterday in Inverness, agreed to recommend that it is officially decommissioned.
Its tiny number of pupils have attended Poolewe primary, five miles south, for the past three years.
A three-month community consultation and public meeting were held as part of recently introduced education legislation giving parents, pupils and others in the area a chance to comment.
According to council projections, current population figures within the 49-capacity school’s catchment indicate a maximum roll of five pupils by 2018-19.
