Firefighters were called to a wildfire beside the “Harry Potter” railway line in Lochaber this afternoon.
The blaze near the railway bridge on the approach to Glenfinnan from Fort William was reported just after 4pm.
A fire service spokeswoman said: “A crew from Fort William used beaters and knapsack tanks to extinguish the fire, which caused damage to approximately two acres of heath.”
She could not say whether the fire had been caused by sparks from the Jacobite steam train – otherwise know as the Hogwarts Express – but confirmed it was in the area of the railway bridge.
West Coast Railways, which operates the popular tourist attraction that featured in the Harry Potter films, could not be contacted for comment.
The same fire crew earlier responded to a call to a wildfire at the end of Loch Eil.
This incident, which was reported soon after 3.30pm, turned out to be estate workers carrying out controlled burning.
