Lochgilphead to Oban road closed by flooding

Following heavy rainfall flooding has closed the main route between Oban and Lochgilphead in two places close to Lochgilphead.

High water levels at the Meadows between Lochgilphead and Cairnbaan and at Kilmartin on the A816 have closed the road to cars.

Lorries and 4×4 vehicles are being let through.

It is not known when the road will re-open.

A spokeswoman for Lochgilphead Police Station said: “Argyll and Bute Council are monitoring the situation.”
