Fire, ambulance and police teams were called to the scene of the crash, on the A9 between Dalmagarry and the Slochd summit, just before 8.30pm. One person was left trapped in their vehicle following the crash, and had to be released by fire teams using cutting equipment. The crash, which involved a single silver car, was so severe that the vehicle’s engine was ripped from the bonnet and strewn across the road. Today, police have confirmed that a man was taken to Raigmore hospital by ambulance. He has since been transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University hospital in Glasgow. The road was closed from around 8.25pm until 5.40am this morning with diversions in place through Tomatin.
